Do not let him do a valve repair on you. Mine failed while I was still in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. When I told his PA about it she passed it off as a Pleural Rub. He saw me daily for 10 days, released me from the hospital and did a checkup 1 week after getting out and still never diagnosed the failure even though I was exhibiting symptoms of CHF caused by the failed valve repair. It was 9 months before another doctor diagnosed the failure and scheduled me for a re-repair at Cleveland Clinic in Ohio. Four months later when I was reading over my old medical records from his surgery I realized the valve repair failed in intensive care.
He used a method of accessing my mitral valve that had not been used in 10 years in the lower 48 because it was too risky and damages the heart conduction system. He does not do enough of them to be even proficient at an already risky procedure.
