Chartered in 1938, Carpenters Local 1281 is the largest Carpenters Local in the State of Alaska. As part of the Alaska Regional Council of Carpenters, Local 1281 represents Union Carpenters, Millwrights, Lathers, Metal Stud Framers, Sheetrockers, Acoustical Ceilings workers, Welders, and Insulators working in Alaska south of the 63rd parallel.
